AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Spurs (13-16), presented by SWBC, fell to the L.A. D-Fenders (22-6) 132-104 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park Sunday evening.
Hollis Thompson led the Spurs off the bench with 20 points and 8 rebounds in 33 minutes. Daniel Nwaelele finished with 18 points and 4 rebounds in 30 minutes, while Cory Jefferson chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds in 28 minutes.
The Spurs took a seven-point lead to start the first quarter, but the D-Fenders quickly changed the pace, leading by 32 points (77-45) at the end of the half. The Spurs trailed for the rest of the game, not coming any closer than 24 points to the D-Fenders. Austin had five players in double figure scoring (Jean-Charles – 16, Garcia – 11).
For the D-Fenders, Vander Blue finished with 28 points and 9 rebounds in 38 minutes, while Josh Magette chipped in 28 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists in 33 minutes.
