AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Spurs defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce 122-105 on Thursday night at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
On assignment from San Antonio, Bryn Forbes set a new team season-high with 36 points (13-17 FG, 6-8 3P, 4-4 FT) and paced the Spurs with eight rebounds and three assists in 36 minutes. Patricio Garino added 18 points and three rebounds in 31 minutes, while Charles Garcia contributed 15 points (5-9 FG, 5-10 FT), three rebounds, and three assists in 21 minutes off the bench. In his first game back from All-Star Weekend, Cory Jefferson recorded his 13th double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Austin held the lead throughout the game, and led by as many as 20 points in the second quarter. The Spurs finished the half ahead 63-50, paced by Forbes’ 27 points. In the second half, Sioux Falls attempted a comeback, but could only pull within 12 points. For the night, Austin shot 54.7 percentfrom the field and 47.6 percent from beyond the arc, while holding Sioux Falls to 41.1 and 20.0, respectively.
For Sioux Falls, Patrick Miller finished with 22 points, two rebounds, and three assists, while Bubu Palo contributed 18 points, three rebounds, and four assists.
