Hoffman Estates, IL– The Windy City Bulls (19-23), presented by BMO Harris Bank, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, earned a 111-104 win over the Greensboro Swarm Wednesday night at the Sears Centre Arena.
Three Windy City Bulls players scored 20 or more points, led by Jarell Eddie who finished the night with 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Wesley Saunders and Will Bynum added 20 points apiece. Taking on the role as the sixth man, Saunders neared a double-double with nine rebounds and added six assists.
Cat Barber led all scorers with 35 points, but it wasn’t enough for the Swarm who fell to 15-28on the season. Damien Wilkins was the second-highest scorer with 23 points, converting 12-of-14 chances from the charity stripe. Cheick Diallo, on assignment from the Charlotte Hornets, added 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Swarm.
After trailing 53-45 at the end of the first half, the Bulls came back strong to start the second half by outscoring the Swarm 31-19 in the third quarter. The Windy City starters combined for 18 points in the third quarter to propel the Bulls to a 76-72 lead entering the fourth quarter.
The second half featured five ties until just over five minutes left in the fourth quarter. The Bulls regained the lead starting on a three-pointer from Jarell Eddie to make it 90-87 with 4:58 remaining in regulation and never looked back.
The Bulls shot 43% from the field, 23% from behind the arc while shooting 78% from the free throw line, including a perfect 8-for-8 performance by Bynum at the charity stripe.
The win avenged three earlier losses to the Swarm this season, including a 99-93 setback on Saturday in Greensboro.
The Bulls return to action at 7 p.m. CST at the Sears Centre Arena this Friday.
