BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Long Island Nets (15-31) fell 117-99 to Raptors 905 (34-11) at Barclays Center tonight.
Long Island’s R.J. Hunter scored a game-high 26 points (6-of-18 FG, 4-of-11 3FG, 10-of-11 FT) along with three rebounds and two blocks in 34 minutes, while Cliff Alexander recorded a double-double with 23 points (10-of-19 FG) and a game-high 12 rebounds in 33 minutes off the bench. Trahson Burrell (16 points) and J.J. Moore (13 points) also scored in double figures for Long Island in the loss.
The 905 opened the game on a 15-0 run and led wire-to-wire in their victory over the Nets. Raptors 905 shot 52.2 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from long range in the first half to take a 24-point lead at halftime (66-42).
The Nets then outscored Raptors 905 57-51 in the second half on 47.5 percent shooting but couldn’t overcome the 905’s lead, which was as many as 32 points with 2:47 remaining in the third quarter.
Axel Toupane led the 905 with a double-double, recording 20 points and 10 assists in 21 minutes. Edy Tavares totaled 17 points with nine rebounds in 17 minutes, while Pascal Siakam scored 16 points with eight rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes.
