SERIES PREVIEW

This time last year Quinn Cook was celebrating a national championship as a senior on the Duke Blue Devils. On Tuesday he will start the quest for a championship of a different sort. The Canton Charge will begin their chase for an NBA D-League title and Cook has been one of the top players in the minor league this season, making the All-Star game in his rookie year. He’s averaging 19.6 points per game while also dishing out 5.4 assists.

The higher-seeded Red Claws enter the series as Atlantic Division Champions and average 112 points per game, the third highest in the league. The Celtics’ affiliate is led by the formidable tandem of Coty Clarke and James Young, who both average over 15 points per game.

The Charge took home the regular season series, 3-1, but ended up with the lower seed, and will have to play two of the three games in Maine. It should come down to Canton’s fourth-ranked defense trying to stop the Red Claws’ second-ranked offense.
